Maria Milo

President & CEO

Maria Milo holds a Master’s Degree in Statistics from Iowa State University, Ames, IA, USA, which she achieved under a full scholarship from the U.S. Agency for International Development. Maria is an engaged, results oriented leader, with 30+ years of hands-on experience managing multiple programs and projects as well as in the academe teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics, Statistics and Mathematics. Maria’s expertise is in six sigma, lean, statistical process control, continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring, training, quality systems and project management. Her experience spans the successful planning, execution and governance of Statistical Process Control, Lean and Six Sigma programs and Quality Management Systems (ISO9000) in Fortune 500 companies in the Semiconductor, Manufacturing, Big Box Retail, and Oil and Gas industries, both domestically and internationally, and also for start-up companies.

Prior to leading VRI as its President and CEO, Maria has provided hundreds of training and mentoring hours in continuous process improvement, statistical process control, design of experiments and advanced statistics in Asia, Europe and North America. Throughout her career experience, Maria had also developed training materials on Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments.  She has been involved in projects that have delivered an aggregate total of more than $300MM in verified financial benefits.  Maria is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Maria’s international and cross cultural exposure and experience in different industries, at different layers of the organization from the grassroots to executive management as well as her years of university teaching and expertise in lean, six sigma and quality engineering tools have honed her skills to quickly understand the Voice of the Customer and their processes thereby enabling the successful achievement of company goals through Process Excellence. 

Zarah Milo

Director VRI Australia

Zarah Milo has a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science and Technology from the University of Sydney, Australia.  While studying, Zarah undertook short term contract roles in various industries where she gained knowledge in operations, customer management, improvement initiatives, streamlining and standardization.  Upon completing her studies, she continued her engagement with NSW Police where she was given full support to apply her expertise in technology, particularly in database management, intranet management and data analysis. 

Returning from a six-month world trip, Zarah then moved to Software Testing.  This laid the foundation of Zarah's journey in quality assurance, project delivery, project management and consultancy.  Zarah quickly advanced in her career and held the titles of Business Analyst, Test Lead and Test Manager. 

 

Zarah's experience spans over 10 years of delivering software project solutions within the financial, telecommunications and government industries in Australia and Asia, working in various roles both from the vendor and client sides.  Having been exposed to various organizational structures and areas of business, Zarah has developed a passion for discovering ways on 'how it could be done better and more efficient'. This interest organically led her to Lean Six Sigma and she is actively working towards her Black Belt Certification. 

Rosalie Cania

HR Manager

 

 

Rosalie Cania holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines and is also an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) since 1997. Rosalie brings more than 25 years of experience and expertise in the management of government and private entities. At VRI she manages a full range of administrative, logistical and operational duties in a wide variety of program areas including training and human resources.

 

As a public servant, Rosalie held the position of Administrative Officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under the Transportation Security Administration where she developed and executed strategic and day-to-day communications efforts to support the agency’s mission focusing on her competencies in general Administrative Operations. She began her career with TSA as a Human Resources Specialist where she coordinated recruitment events, handled worker’s compensation and employee relations.

 

Rosalie has expertise in all aspects of administrative operations, human resources management and training. She has served as a Human Resources Manager for a variety of semiconductor companies as well as for a law firm. She has provided Human Resources services to manufacturing, financial, educational organizations and public agencies. Her accomplishments include the design and rollout of employee benefits, compensation and human resources information system (HRIS) tools as well as education programs sponsored and funded by the Employment Training Panel (ETP) of Santa Clara County. She has also revised employee handbooks and redesigned performance appraisal systems. Prior to beginning her career in HR, Rosalie was a Training Manager for a semiconductor company which she led a team of trainers and conducted hundreds of hours of training and developed a suite of training materials and SOPs for complex semiconductor manufacturing processes to ISO9001 standards.

Katie Cervetti

Finance Manager

Katie Cervetti is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master’s of Science in Accounting and ten years of accounting experience.  After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Spanish from Franciscan University of Steubenville Katie’s accounting experience started as an Accounting Technician for the USDA.  This position gave Katie resolve that Accounting was the career path for her and she applied for and was granted a Graduate Assistantship at The University of Memphis where she was able to earn her Masters in Accountancy.  

Upon completion she worked as a public accountant performing audits and reviews at a local public accounting firm in Memphis, TN, Watkins Uiberall.  Within four years she reached the level of Senior Accountant and gained vast experience working with many types of business structures and accounting software.  She also developed skills in reviewing and managing her colleagues and working as a team.  She then moved on and formed her own accounting firm serving as a contracted accountant for small businesses and obtained Variance Reduction International as a client in 2013.  

Katie has a passion for traveling, as part of her undergraduate studies she was able to study abroad in both Austria and Mexico.  Serving as the accountant for Variance Reduction International is a true pleasure for Katie as she is now able to apply and build upon her accounting skills in the international arena.
